Job Summary:

As a Systems Engineer III, you will be responsible for the design, deployment, tuning, administration, and recovery of mission-critical enterprise systems. You will serve as the senior technical authority, guiding IT leadership and business stakeholders on architecture, best practices, and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architecture & Design
    • Lead system architecture planning, operating-system and application configuration, and capacity forecasting.
    • Design and manage Google Workspace environments: tenant setup, security policies, mail routing, and collaboration tools.
  • Implementation & Tuning
    • Deploy and optimize Windows, Google Workspace, Linux, and Azure environments to ensure peak performance and reliability.
    • Configure and maintain Synology NAS solutions for shared storage, backups, and virtualization targets.
    • Develop and execute disaster-recovery procedures and high-availability solutions.
  • Administration & Support
    • Act as the primary escalation point for complex system administration tasks and troubleshooting.
    • Design, manage, implement and administer MDM environments: JAMF Pro for Apple device management, and Microsoft Intune for unified endpoint management.
    • Oversee Microsoft 365 administration: design, implement, and administer M365. Responsibilities include user provisioning, licensing, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and security configurations.
  • Infrastructure Technologies
    • Administer virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V) and Azure IaaS/PaaS services & AWS
    • Configure and manage SAN technologies, WAN acceleration devices, and data-warehouse systems.
  • Project Leadership
    • Lead cross-functional IT projects, collaborating with stakeholders, managing timelines, and mentoring junior engineers.
    • Provide regular status updates, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations to IT management.
  • Collaboration & Travel
    • Partner with clinical and administrative departments to align IT infrastructure with operational goals.
    • Willingness to travel periodically to off-site clinics and remote facilities.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in system administration, engineering, or IT infrastructure.
    • Prior healthcare or hospital IT experience is strongly preferred.
  • Technical Expertise
    • Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy; macOS and Linux administration.
    • VMware (vCenter, ESXi) and Hyper-V virtualization.
    • Google Workspace administration: user management, security configuration, and data migration.
    • JAMF Pro: enrollment, policy creation, and patch management for Apple devices.
    • Microsoft Intune: device configuration, compliance policies, and application management. Highly desirable.
    • SQL Server and MySQL database administration: backups, performance tuning, and security.
    • Synology NAS configuration: RAID, snapshot replication, and Active Backup Suite.
    • SAN technologies, backup/recovery solutions, and WAN optimization.
    • Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, and firewalls.
    • Experience with Pure Storage
    • Experience with Enterprise Backup Systems such as Rubrik
  • Soft Skills & Certifications
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and performance-tuning abilities.
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.
    • Proven project management experience and leadership capability.

Relevant certifications a plus: MCSE, VCP, JAMF Certified Administrator, Google Workspace Administrator, Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, ITIL, CISS
