St. John’s Episcopal Hospital is the only hospital providing emergency and ambulatory care to the densely populated, culturally and economically diverse, and medically underserved populations of the Rockaways and Five Towns in southern Queens County and southwestern Nassau County, New York. Celebrating over 110 years of community care, the 257-bed facility provides people of all faiths with comprehensive preventive, diagnostic treatment and rehabilitative services, regardless of ability to pay.

Type: Part-Time (30 hours biweekly)

Pay: $32.63 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Perform repairs on doors and windows hardware, portable items (beds, cribs, stretchers, etc.), HVAC equipment and minor plumbing
• Perform water testing and chemical treatment
• Minor construction, demolition, cleaning, and painting
• Minor repairs to boilers, compressors, pumps, fans, chillers, etc.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or Equivalency required, Trade School training preferred
• Minimum 3 years experience in the maintenance field with general experience in all trades, including plumbing, painting, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC
• Must be able to read manufacturers assembly sketches, drawing, and simple blueprints
