Hours: Varied (The shift time starts as follows: 6:00 am-430pm, 7-5:30pm, 8-630pm.)
Pay: $69.00 / Hour
Job Summary:
Coordinates a patient-focused team in providing direct and collaborative health care in a variety of clinical settings designed to promote and restore optimal health across the life span. Utilizes all components of the nursing process in providing care that reflects an understanding of individual, cultural, and religious diversities and needs, and recognition of patient rights. Utilizes knowledge and expertise in case management to provide comprehensive, coordinated, seamless care to individuals and aggregate groups. Coordinates, integrates, and facilitates the patient/provider relationship along the continuum of care.
Responsibilities:
Greets and assess all patients brought into the OR.
Review the pre-operative checklist. Confirms it is complete and accurate and signs as confirmation it has been reviewed. Prepares OR rooms as necessary including the proper functioning equipment and supplies to provide a clean and appropriate environment
Supervises and directs patient care in an individual operating room. Monitors the practice of unlicensed assistive personal. Participates in the intraoperative plan of care for each patient.
“Scrubs” in as appropriate. Circulates as appropriate if assigned. Familiar with all instruments used and can assemble what is needed for any case being done to insure the room is ready
prior to the beginning of each case
Performs scrub duties as necessary. Maintains count on sponges, needles and instruments to
insure no loss of items according to policy
Insures and participates in the “time out” including, if possible the patient, before the
surgery begins. Insures the accompanying paperwork is completely filled out by all
disciplines
Completes all peri-operative documentation and charting forms appropriately.
