Medical Informatics Data Analyst #3

Job Description:

The Health Informatics Data Analyst will work under the leadership of the Chief Medical Information Officer to bridge IT, clinical, and business needs within the hospital. This role involves managing and analyzing healthcare data to support strategic decision-making, improve patient care, operational efficiency, and clinical decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Data Management: Compile, organize, and manage large healthcare datasets from various sources including Electronic Health Records (MEDITECH, Athena, OncoEMR, Aria, Centricity) and other relevant systems
  • Analysis and Reporting: Analyze data to identify trends and provide actionable insights through detailed reports and data visualizations using Tableau, Power BI and Excel
  • Data Governance: Contribute to the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures. Ensure data privacy and security compliance
  • Collaboration: Work with clinical staff to understand workflows and integrate data solutions
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance healthcare quality and reduce costs

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Statistics, or a related field; Master’s preferred
  • Proficiency in SQL SSRS, MS Office, and data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in healthcare data management
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, CCDA)
  • Experience working with Meditech tables and Athena data sets preferred.
