Medical Library Assistant - Medical Library #4

Type: Part-Time (28 Hours Biweekly)

Shift: Day Shift (Wednesdays & Fridays)

Hours: 8:00AM - 4:00PM

Pay: $24.25 - $26.75 / Hourly

Job Summary:

The Library Assistant should have excellent interpersonal skills. This person is
responsible for sorting and shelving books according to their categories, assisting
the library users with internet access, and ensuring their technical needs are met.
This person also manages inquiries in person, via email or telephone, among other
duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Helping customers locate library materials.
  • Helping customers find material online.
  • Sorting and shelving books according to their categorization.
  • Claiming Journals and moving them on the shelves.
  • Maintaining records of books and journals returned.
  • Managing inquires in person and via email and telephone.
  • Sanitizing computer workstations and materials taken out and returned.
  • Interlibrary loans via DOCLINE system
  • Scanning, photocopying and emailing requested information to customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalency required, college degree preferred
  • Library experience preferred
  • Good computer skills
