Type: Full-Time

Shift: Days

Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Pay: $36.27/hour

This position will support our main campus and off-site locations.

The Plumber installs and maintains all plumbing within the Hospital and auxiliary sites. Tests and repairs sprinklers and standpipe systems following NYC code requirements. Reads and interprets drawings and blueprints.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare material lists for jobs and perform inventories
  • Install and maintain waste and soil piping and accessories
  • Install and repair water, gas, air, and vent piping
  • Install and repair steam lines, traps, strainers, and valves
  • Install and repair medical gas vacuum and oxygen systems
  • Install and repair compressed air and acid waste systems
  • Test, repair, and maintain standpipe and sprinkler systems
  • Install and repair all plumbing fixtures
  • Install and repair boiler equipment (pumps, traps, etc.)
  • Maintain domestic hot water tanks and distribution stations
  • Maintain main water tank, non-potable water system, and cooling towers

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or Equivalency degree, Trade School graduate preferred
  • 5 years’ experience
  • Experience on alteration work including new utility installations
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and diagrams
  • Knowledge of NYC plumbing codes
