Sr Residency Coordinator - GME #8

Location: Far Rockaway, NY

Pay: $60,000 - $65,000

Job Description:

Responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the General Surgery Residency Program. Provides staff support to Department Leadership and coordinates activities relating to residents, staff, and medical students.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with requirements of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), the American Medical Association (AMA), the American Board of Surgery (ABS), & New York State agencies as applicable
  • Oversee the day to day operation of the surgical residency program
  • Act as direct assistant to the program director on all matters of residency program management
  • Process both incoming and outgoing resident’s credentialing, onboarding, clearance and graduation documentation as needed
  • Create resident schedules, both yearly & monthly, ensuring compliance with work hour and 24-hour call frequency requirements
  • Coordinate program meetings and conferences such as; resident education conferences, grand rounds presentations, program evaluation committee meetings, clinical competency committee meetings, and resident evaluation meetings
  • Communicate with out rotation staff on resident appointments and requirements, providing necessary documentation and records, as well as tracking and assisting residents in timely completion of appointment checklists
  • Maintain resident files per ACGME & EHS requirements
  • Coordinate all aspects of the resident interview process such as; scheduling interview dates, communicating with applicants, confirming appointments, and interview day operation
  • Using the New Innovations residency management software, distribute resident evaluations, as well as record and report resident work hours, procedure logs, and assignments
  • Using the Premier ERP system, process resident, faculty, and program payments such as reimbursements, education speaker payments, resource subscription fees, and credentialing course service payments
  • Create, update, and maintain program specific forms and manuals as necessary
  • Maintain and monitor resident attendance records at all required educational activities

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalency required, Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience as a residency coordinator, surgical specialty preferred
  • High level of knowledge in ACGME & ABS requirements
  • High level of computer literacy, experience with Microsoft and Google products preferred
  • Familiarity with New Innovations software preferred
