Job Summary:
Provide vital technical support and expertise for simulation operations and technology. This will include preparation, maintenance, and repair of complex computerized high-fidelity mannequins and associated software and simulation materials. Efficient operation of a video capture system, related multimedia peripherals, and validating data collected. Facilitate and assist in learning sessions with a goal of high levels of conceptual fidelity, physical, and psychological safety. Provide concise and accurate record keeping. Organize, procure, and create essential learning materials for simulation resourcefully and in fiscally responsible ways.
Responsibilities:
- Create, manage, and maintain schedules, coordinate and document the efficient use of learning space, conference rooms, and lecture halls, and validate data collected
- Operate high-fidelity patient simulators and video recording system in accordance with simulation lesson plans under the guidance of educators and subject matter experts
- Speaking in front of groups of medical students, residents, and other team members
- Expressing technical information clearly and simply to non-technical persons
- Skills Lab and Simulator Room scenario staging and clean up
- Create simulated medication labels, wounds, and other medical presentations according to lesson plans or staging directions
- Meeting the challenges of adult learners with diverse backgrounds
- Assist with grants, donations, and other external revenue opportunities
- Maintain governance and safety standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Minimum 1 year experience in Healthcare Simulation or Adult Education
- Current Allied Health, EMT or a Medical Credential
- Academic Healthcare or Computer Science background preferred (BLS, ACLS, PALS Instructor)
- Basic knowledge of SQL, ACCESS, or Qualtrics preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communicative skills (written and oral) to work effectively with other faculty, staff, students, and vendors in a positive, helpful, and cooperative working relationship
- Experience with and ability to utilize various PC platforms, Google Suite, and proprietary software
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to keep materials in order, maintain files, and follow through assignments to completion
- Ability to learn to train, coach, and debrief Standardized Patient actors
- Ability to work efficiently on projects independently or as part of a team
