Job Summary

The Certified Pharmacy Technician, under the direct supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Supervisor or staff pharmacists, will assist in compounding and dispensing medications and ordering drugs and other pharmaceutical supplies. The forgoing is performed using standard policy and procedures to fill written prescriptions issued by physicians, dentists and other qualified licensed practitioners.

Requirements

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) Certification from PTCB.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician (NYS)
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and abbreviations.
• Computer literate, specifically in pharmaceutical related software.
• Ability to type a minimum of 25 words per minute on an electric typewriter.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain physical condition and stamina appropriate to the performance of assigned duties which may include standing for extended periods, walking, bending and stretching; lifting boxes weighing approximately 20-40 lbs; heavy telephone use; excellent manual dexterity required.
